Prof. Andaç Salman, MD

Prof. Andaç Salman, MD is a dermatologist at Acibadem Altunizade Hospital in İstanbul, where he works in the Dermatology unit. He provides care for inflammatory, allergic, infectious, pigmentary and tumoral skin conditions in adults and children, with clinical interests that include urticaria, eczema, acne, Behçet’s disease, fungal infections, sexually transmitted diseases, mole assessment and skin cancer. Dr. Salman graduated from İstanbul University İstanbul Faculty of Medicine in 2009; his medical education also included a period at Maastricht University, Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences, Netherlands, in 2007. In 2013 he was a Clinical Observer in the Dermato-Allergy Unit of the Dermatology Clinic at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Hospital del Mar, Spain, and in 2014 he completed his specialty training in Dermatology and Venereal Diseases at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine. He then worked as a Specialist Doctor at Marmara University Pendik Training and Research Hospital (2014–2016) and at Kırklareli State Hospital (2016–2017), before returning to Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Dermatology and Venereal Diseases, as Doctor Faculty Member (2017–2020) and Associate Professor Doctor (2020–2022). He is a member of Urticaria Centers of Reference and Excellence, the Turkish Pediatric Dermatology Association, the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology-EADV, the Turkish Dermatology Association, IDS (International Dermoscopy Society), the Dermatoimmunology and Allergy Association and the Dermatology and Venereal Diseases Association. His published work includes studies on omalizumab and dupilumab in chronic spontaneous urticaria and atopic dermatitis, contact allergy in children, and quality of life in patients with psoriasis, vitiligo and acne.

Clinical focus

A central part of Dr. Salman’s practice is urticaria (hives), including chronic spontaneous urticaria and pediatric urticaria. He also evaluates and treats atopic, contact and seborrheic dermatitis, acne, Behçet’s disease, fungal infections and sexually transmitted diseases. Mole mapping and treatment form part of his work in pigmentary and tumoral skin conditions.

In addition to medical dermatology, Dr. Salman offers selected procedures such as botulinum toxin applications, treatment of excessive sweating, microneedling, and skin rejuvenation and regeneration. Whether a procedure is appropriate depends on the individual assessment, and options are discussed with the patient on the basis of the clinical findings.

How Dr. Salman works with international patients

Dr. Salman consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for other languages.
