Baran Şen, MD

Clinical focus

A central part of Dr. Şen’s practice is joint replacement. He performs hip replacement surgery and knee replacement surgery for patients whose joint damage, often related to osteoarthritis or other joint diseases, is no longer adequately managed with non-surgical measures. Whether replacement is appropriate depends on the individual patient’s symptoms, imaging findings, general health and expectations, and is decided only after clinical assessment.

He also treats knee injuries and sports injuries, including meniscus tears and muscle tears, and manages osteoporosis as it relates to bone health and fracture risk. In trauma care he uses minimally invasive surgical techniques where the pattern of injury allows. His work in the treatment of movement disorders addresses limitations in movement and function that arise from orthopedic conditions. Treatment plans may combine surgical and non-surgical approaches according to the diagnosis and the patient’s circumstances.

How Dr. Şen works with international patients

Dr. Şen consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages.
