Prof. Celaletdin Camcı, MD

Prof. Celaletdin Camcı, MD is a medical oncologist in the Medical Oncology Department at Acibadem International Hospital in İstanbul. He has more than 37 years in medicine and works with adults who have a range of solid tumours. His subspecialty interests are urological oncology and lymphedema treatment, and he also has a particular interest in cancer screening and genetic considerations in oncology. He speaks Turkish and English.

Dr. Camcı graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1989. He then completed his Internal Medicine training at Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital in 1994 and his Medical Oncology training at Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Medicine in 1999. He has been part of Acıbadem Healthcare Services since 2026.

Clinical focus

Dr. Camcı assesses and plans systemic treatment for patients with a broad range of cancers. His clinical interests include breast cancer, liver cancer, biliary tract cancers, thyroid cancer, brain tumours, spinal and spinal cord tumours, and head and neck cancers. He also sees patients with bone tumours and cancers of the colon and rectum.

Within uro-oncology, his work covers bladder cancer as well as cancers of the prostate and kidney. Alongside cancer-directed care, Dr. Camcı is involved in cancer screening and in evaluating cancer genetics where a hereditary component may be relevant to diagnosis or to the wider family. He also provides lymphedema treatment for patients who develop swelling after cancer surgery or other oncological therapy. In each case, the approach depends on the tumour type, its stage, previous treatments and the patient’s overall health, and it is agreed with the patient after a review of the available information.

How Dr. Camcı works with international patients

Dr. Camcı consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the options that may be suitable. Dr. Camcı aims to explain the diagnosis and the possible treatment paths in clear terms so that patients can take part in decisions about their care.
