His training in vitreoretinal surgery is reflected in this retinal focus, and his research has also addressed the diagnosis and monitoring of macular and choroidal conditions.
Beyond the retina, he evaluates and manages a range of other eye conditions. These include myopia, keratoconus, cataract, amblyopia and glaucoma. He also sees patients with ocular migraine. Which examinations and treatment options are appropriate depends on the individual findings and is discussed with each patient after a clinical assessment.
How Dr. Mirza works with international patients
Dr. Mirza consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as previous eye examination reports, optical coherence tomography or other imaging results, laboratory and pathology findings, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges the appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical eye examination and a discussion of the possible options. Video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their situation with Dr. Mirza before deciding whether to travel.
