Nilüfer Oğuz, MD is a dermatologist at Acibadem Dr. Sinasi Can (Kadikoy) Hospital in İstanbul, where she works in the Dermatology unit. She then practiced as a dermatology specialist at İskenderun State Hospital from 1997 to 1999 and at the Dermatology Clinic of Beykoz State Hospital from 1999 to 2008. She has been with Acıbadem Healthcare Services since 2008. Dr. Oğuz is a member of the Turkish Dermatology Association and the Dermatology and Venereal Diseases Association.

Clinical focus

A large part of Dr. Oğuz’s work involves chronic inflammatory skin diseases. She assesses and manages psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, eczema and other dermatitis conditions, lichen planus, rosacea and acne. She also evaluates patients with alopecia areata and other hair and nail concerns. Because these conditions often follow a relapsing course, treatment plans are usually adjusted over time according to the patient’s response and any side effects.

Her practice also covers infectious skin conditions, including impetigo, other bacterial skin infections, fungal conditions and warts, as well as sexually transmitted infections with skin manifestations such as genital herpes and syphilis. On the procedural side, Dr. Oğuz performs cryotherapy and PRP, and she offers cosmetic dermatology procedures. Whether a given procedure is appropriate depends on the individual diagnosis, skin type and medical history, which are reviewed during the consultation.
