Assoc. Prof. Dr. Talat Cem Ovalıoğlu

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Talat Cem Ovalıoğlu is a neurosurgeon at Bakırköy Hospital, where he works in the Neurosurgery unit and in the treatment of pituitary diseases. His clinical interests include epilepsy surgery, scoliosis, cervical disc herniation, lumbar disc herniation, spine and spinal cord tumors, spine surgery, deep-seated brain tumors, brain aneurysms, brain tumors, and pituitary disease treatment.

He graduated from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1991. His training and academic path included research appointments in Orthopedics and Traumatology at İstanbul Bilim University, Neurosurgery at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine and Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, and Neurosurgery training at Ord. Prof. Dr. Mazhar Osman Mental Health and Diseases Training and Research Hospital. He also held research positions at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital through Harvard Medical School, and at the McKnight Brain Institute, College of Medicine, University of Florida.

Dr. Ovalıoğlu has worked as a neurosurgery specialist at İstanbul Şafak Hospital, Medical Park Bahçelievler Hospital, Bezm-i Alem Vakıf Gureba Training and Research Hospital, and Bakırköy Prof. Dr. Mazhar Osman Mental Health and Neurological Diseases Training and Research Hospital. International patients can expect an evaluation shaped by his longstanding neurosurgical experience and his focus on both brain and spine conditions. He is a member of the Turkish Neurosurgical Society, the Nervous System Surgery Association, and the Turkish Medical Association.
