Prof. Dr. Tansu Küçük

Prof. Dr. Tansu Küçük is a specialist in Gynecology & Obstetrics at Acibadem Maslak Hospital in İstanbul. He has more than 40 years in medicine, and his clinical work spans reproductive medicine, gynecologic conditions, robotic gynecologic surgery, urogynecology, menopause care and pregnancy and birth care. He is a member of the Turkish Gynecology and Obstetrics Association, the Türk Üreme Endokrinolojisi Association, the Reproductive Medicine Association, the Robotic Surgery Group, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.

Dr. Küçük graduated from Gülhane Military Medical Academy Faculty of Medicine in 1986 and completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology training at Gülhane Military Medical Academy in 1993. He then worked as an Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist at Mevki Hospital from 1993 to 1994 and completed an Assisted Reproduction Fellowship at Hadassah University in Israel in 1994–1995. Between 1997 and 1998 he held an In Vitro Fertilization Center Fellowship at Cornell University in New York and worked in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic of Saint Barnabas Hospital in New Jersey, USA. His academic career at Gülhane Military Medical Academy progressed from Assistant Associate Professor to Associate Professor in 1999 and Professor in 2008, a position he held until 2010, when he joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services. His published work, appearing in journals including J Assist Reprod Genet, J Androl and J Min Invasive Gynecol, addresses topics such as intrauterine insemination, ovarian stimulation in poor responder women, chromohysteroscopy in recurrent in vitro fertilization failure and rigid hysteroscopy for diagnostic and operative vaginoscopy.

Clinical focus

Dr. Küçük evaluates and treats a range of benign and malignant gynecologic conditions. His areas of expertise include endometriosis treatment, menopause care, urogynecology, sexually transmitted diseases and the treatment of sexual dysfunction. He also sees patients with cervical cancer and ovarian cancer. Where surgery is considered, robotic gynecologic surgery is among the approaches he uses; the suitability of any surgical option depends on the individual clinical picture.

In reproductive medicine, his work includes infertility treatment, drawing on his fellowship training in assisted reproduction and in vitro fertilization. In obstetrics, he provides pregnancy monitoring and attends births, including epidural birth and cesarean delivery.

How Dr. Küçük works with international patients

Dr. Küçük consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as ultrasound, MRI or CT reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit.
