Prof. Tufan Bilgin, MD

Prof. Tufan Bilgin, MD is a specialist in Gynecology & Obstetrics at Acibadem Bursa Hospital in Bursa. Dr. Bilgin graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1982 and completed his specialization in obstetrics and gynecology at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1988. His early career included positions at Bursa Pilot Region Dispensary (1982–1984), Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine (1984–1988), İzmir Mevki Hospital (1988–1990), and Bursa Zübeyde Hanım Doğumevi (1990). From 1990 to 2011 he worked at Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, where he was appointed assistant professor in 1992, associate professor in 1994, and professor in 2000. In 2006 he joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services, and in 2011 he received Medical Specialization Board certification in Gynecologic Oncology Surgery. His published work includes articles on coexisting endometrial cancer in patients with atypical endometrial hyperplasia, chemotherapy for recurrent and metastatic endometrial cancer, salvage therapy for resistant gestational trophoblastic disease, and conservative surgery for ovarian cancer in women of reproductive age, appearing in journals such as J Obstet Gynaecol Res, Eur J Gynaecol Oncol, and Arch Gynecol Obstet.

Clinical focus

A substantial part of Dr. Bilgin’s practice concerns gynecologic oncology. He evaluates and manages women with ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, and endometrial cancer, drawing on his certification in Gynecologic Oncology Surgery. The choice between surgical and other approaches depends on the individual diagnosis, stage, and general health of the patient and is discussed after a full review of the available findings.

His work also covers benign gynecologic and pelvic conditions. This includes endometriosis treatment, fibroids, pelvic pain and functional disorders, and menopause. In urogynecology, he addresses pelvic floor disorders and rehabilitation, bladder health, and urinary incontinence, where management is tailored to the type and severity of symptoms.

How Dr. Bilgin works with international patients

Dr. Bilgin speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages.
