Prof. Dr. Rıza Dundar

Prof. Dr. Rıza Dundar is an otorhinolaryngology specialist with a subspecialty in head and neck surgery. He practices in the Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) unit of Acibadem Eskisehir Hospital in Eskişehir. He graduated from Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine in 2003 and completed his specialty training in Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases at İzmir Atatürk Training and Research Hospital in 2009, having worked as a research assistant in the hospital’s ENT Clinic from 2003 to 2009. He has more than 23 years of experience in medicine.

After completing his training, Dr. Dundar worked as a specialist doctor at Mardin Kızıltepe State Hospital from 2009 to 2014, served as Başhekim (chief physician) at Mardin Kızıltepe Devlet Hospital between 2011 and 2012, and was Head of Medical Services at the Mardin Public Hospitals Union from 2012 to 2014. From 2014 to 2016 he worked in the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat and Head and Neck Surgery at Harran University Faculty of Medicine. In 2016 he moved to Özel Acıbadem Eskişehir Hospital, where he worked as an associate professor until 2021, and from 2021 to May 2024 he served as Dean at Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University. His published research includes clinical and experimental studies on tympanoplasty, endoscopic sinus surgery, hemostatic agents in the middle ear, cerumenolytic treatment in children and the effect of dust storms on allergic patients, appearing in journals such as Clinical Otolaryngology, The Journal of Craniofacial Surgery and The Journal of Laryngology & Otology.

Clinical focus

Dr. Dundar’s clinical work covers the full range of ear, nose and throat conditions. In the nose and sinuses, he treats sinusitis and performs nasal and sinus surgery, and he also evaluates smell and taste disorders and snoring. In otology, his areas of expertise include hearing loss and vertigo and balance disorders. He assesses and treats dysphagia (swallowing difficulty) and salivary gland diseases.

Within head and neck surgery, Dr. Dundar’s expertise includes oncological surgery for head and neck cancer, including laryngeal cancer and tongue and tongue-base cancer. Treatment decisions in these conditions depend on the individual patient’s findings, the stage and location of disease, and previous treatments, and are made after clinical examination and review of the available imaging and pathology.
