Suat Boyacı, MD

Suat Boyacı, MD is a neurosurgeon at Acibadem Bodrum Hospital and Acibadem Bodrum Outpatient Clinic in Muğla, Turkey. Clinical focus

A large part of Dr. Boyacı’s practice is spine surgery. He evaluates and treats lumbar disc herniation, cervical disc herniation, lumbar spinal stenosis and scoliosis. Where an operation is considered, options may include endoscopic spinal surgery or spinal fusion surgery, depending on the nature and extent of the problem. For selected lower-back conditions, he also uses radiofrequency treatment and ablation treatment, which are less invasive approaches that may be discussed as alternatives or complements to surgery.

Beyond the spine, Dr. Boyacı treats brain tumours and embolism and performs peripheral nerve surgery. In each case, the choice of treatment is based on the patient’s symptoms, neurological examination and imaging, and the potential benefits and risks of each option are reviewed with the patient before any decision is made.

How Dr. Boyacı works with international patients

Dr. Boyacı consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports and imaging, such as MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing imaging and previous treatments, a clinical examination and a discussion of the available options.
