Bilge Özgür Yüksel, MD is a Pulmonary Medicine specialist practicing in the Pulmonology unit at Acibadem International Hospital in İstanbul. Clinical focus

Dr. Yüksel evaluates and manages patients with acute and chronic conditions of the lungs and airways. Her areas of expertise include asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung nodules, lower respiratory tract infections, and lung and other thoracic cancers. Where the clinical picture requires direct examination of the airways, she performs bronchoscopy and EBUS when indicated; these procedures may be used to assess lung nodules or suspected thoracic cancers and to help establish a diagnosis. Patients with ongoing breathing difficulties may also be assessed for respiratory treatment and rehabilitation, and she supports patients with allergic and immunological conditions that affect the respiratory system.

A second strand of her practice concerns sleep-related conditions, including insomnia and sleep apnea, together with other sleep disorders that can affect breathing and daytime functioning. In line with her subspecialty interest in Smoke-Free Life, she also offers smoking cessation support, which may form part of the overall management plan for patients with COPD, asthma, or other lung conditions. Treatment decisions are made on an individual basis after the relevant history, imaging, and examination findings have been reviewed.

How Dr. Yüksel works with international patients

Dr. Yüksel consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior medical reports and imaging, such as CT, MRI, or X-ray reports, laboratory and pathology results, operative notes, and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit.
