Bülent Raşit Tuncel, MD

Bülent Raşit Tuncel, MD is an ophthalmologist at Acibadem Eskisehir Hospital in Eskişehir, where he practices in the Ophthalmology unit. Clinical focus

A large part of Dr. Tuncel’s practice concerns conditions that affect vision over time. He evaluates and treats cataracts, in which the natural lens of the eye becomes cloudy, and myopia, or short-sightedness. His retinal work includes macular degeneration and other retinal diseases, as well as vitrectomy, a surgical procedure in which the vitreous gel is removed from the eye to allow treatment of the retina. He also manages uveitis, an inflammation of the inner layers of the eye that may require careful follow-up.

Dr. Tuncel also sees patients with conditions of the eye surface and eyelids, including eye allergies, blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelid margins) and eyelid myokymia, the involuntary twitching of the eyelid. In children, his areas of expertise include paediatric eye diseases and amblyopia, sometimes called lazy eye, where early assessment is generally considered important for visual development. The suitability of any particular treatment depends on the findings of a clinical examination and is decided on an individual basis.

How Dr. Tuncel works with international patients

Dr. Tuncel speaks Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages.
