İnci Candan, MD

İnci Candan, MD is a dermatologist at Acibadem Dr. Sinasi Can (Kadikoy) Hospital in İstanbul, where she works in the Dermatology unit. Skin conditions seen in a general dermatology unit may include inflammatory disorders such as eczema, psoriasis, rosacea and seborrheic dermatitis, allergic reactions such as urticaria, and skin infections such as impetigo, folliculitis and shingles. Suspicious lesions are assessed clinically and, where appropriate, sampled so that conditions such as skin cancer can be confirmed or excluded.

Venereal diseases are the second part of Dr. Candan’s field. These sexually transmitted infections often present with skin or mucosal signs, and assessment usually involves a targeted history, an examination and laboratory testing before a treatment plan is discussed. Management is individual and depends on the diagnosis, the patient’s overall health and any previous treatment. Because many skin and venereal conditions are chronic or can recur, follow-up visits may be part of care.

How Dr. Candan works with international patients

Dr. Candan consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports, including laboratory and pathology results, previous dermatology notes and discharge summaries, and arranges appointments and the hospital visit. For patients who are abroad, a video consultation can be arranged as an initial step to discuss the complaint and review existing reports; a physical examination, and any biopsy or laboratory testing, still requires an in-person visit.
