Ayşe Yemişçi, MD

Ayşe Yemişçi, MD is a dermatologist practicing in the Dermatology unit of Acibadem Bahçeşehir Outpatient Clinic in İstanbul. She has more than 39 years of experience in medicine, and her clinical work covers inflammatory skin diseases, pigmentary conditions, hair loss, skin infections, sexually transmitted infections and skin tumours. She joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2022 after a long career in hospital dermatology.

Dr. Yemişçi graduated from İstanbul University İstanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1987 and completed her specialty training in Dermatology and Venereal Diseases at Trakya University Faculty of Medicine in 1990. From 1991 to 2008 she worked at Edirne Keşan Devlet Hospital, followed by a period at Lepra Dermatology and Venereal Diseases Hospital from 2008 to 2009. Between 2010 and 2020 she was at Bakırköy Dr. Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital. She is a member of the Dermatology and Venereal Diseases Association and the İstanbul Medical Chamber.

Clinical focus

A large part of Dr. Yemişçi’s practice involves chronic and inflammatory skin conditions. She assesses and treats acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea and urticaria, conditions that often require ongoing care and adjustment of treatment over time. She also sees patients with pigment disorders, including vitiligo, and with hair loss, where the evaluation aims to identify the underlying cause before a treatment plan is discussed.

Her training in venereal diseases is reflected in her work with sexually transmitted infections, including genital herpes, and in the treatment of warts and condyloma. Cryotherapy is among the procedures she uses in the outpatient setting where it is considered appropriate for the individual patient. Dr. Yemişçi also evaluates suspicious skin lesions, malignant melanoma and other skin tumours. When a lesion raises concern, the findings of the clinical examination are explained to the patient and the next steps are discussed as part of the overall care plan.

How Dr. Yemişçi works with international patients

Dr. Yemişçi consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages. Before a visit, the Acibadem international patient team coordinates the collection of prior reports, for example dermatology notes, laboratory and pathology results, imaging reports and records of previous treatments, and arranges appointments and the visit to the outpatient clinic. A first consultation typically covers the patient’s history and symptoms, a review of existing reports and earlier treatments, a clinical examination of the skin and a discussion of the available options. A video consultation is available for international patients who wish to discuss their case with Dr. Yemişçi before or instead of traveling, depending on the nature of the condition.
