Dilek Aydın Yıldıran, MD

Dilek Aydın Yıldıran, MD is a Pulmonary Medicine specialist who practices in the Pulmonology unit of Acibadem Bodrum Outpatient Clinic in Muğla, Turkey. Her early professional experience includes the İstanbul Haydarpaşa Numune Hospital Internal Medicine Service (1989–1990) and the İstanbul Üsküdar Verem Dispanseri (1997–1998). From 1998 to 2000 she worked in the Chest Diseases Clinic of İstanbul Kartal Training and Research Hospital (Lütfü Kırdar Training and Research Hospital), and from 2000 to 2020 in the Chest Diseases Clinic of Ankara Bayındır Hospital. She joined Acıbadem Healthcare Services in 2013. She is a member of the Toraks Association, the Turkish Sleep Medicine Association, the European Respiratory Society, the Turkish Respiratory Research Association and the Muğla Medical Chamber.

Clinical focus

A large part of Dr. Yıldıran’s practice involves the assessment and long-term management of chronic and acute lung disease. This includes asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and pneumonia, where the emphasis is on confirming the diagnosis, identifying contributing factors and agreeing on a treatment plan that can be followed over time. Respiratory therapy and rehabilitation and smoking cessation support form part of this pulmonary disease treatment approach, particularly for patients whose breathing is limited by chronic airway disease.

Dr. Yıldıran also evaluates lung nodules and patients with suspected or confirmed lung cancer and other thoracic cancers. Bronchoscopy is among the diagnostic procedures she performs when tissue sampling or direct airway examination is needed to clarify a finding on imaging. In addition, she assesses patients with suspected sleep apnea, a condition that often presents with snoring, daytime tiredness or disturbed sleep and that may require formal sleep evaluation before treatment is planned.

Dr. Yıldıran consults in Turkish and English, and interpreters can be arranged for patients who speak other languages.
